This class was jammed pack full of information. It blows my mind to look back on everything I have done and learned. There is just so much technology out there that I never knew about. I am glad I took this course when I did because for my classes in the future I am going to have all of these resources. Another great thing I learned in this class is that there is so much FREE stuff out there for us teachers. Open Source for instance, will be very valuable to me in the long run.
I have two favorite resources I learned about in this class. The first one is Quia. I had so much fun with it! If a teacher wanted to he or she could use this site for every lesson or subject taught. I doubt I would do that because the students always enjoy something new, but seriously I cannot believe how fun it was. There are so many details you can change to fit exactly what you need it for.
My second favorite resource with Flickr. I can really see myself using this in the classroom. I think students would understand anything better if they had something to look at and this resource is just what I need to accomplish that. It keeps pictures organized and there are great ways to add to each picture. Each picture can almost be like a flashcard and they are a great way to study. I also think it would be a great idea to have students use Flickr as well. I mean why not??? It is out there for everyone to use and students could have fun with it.
The education world is really changing because of all the technology available. I can see myself using podcasts and possibly even having my students create podcasts. This class really opened my eyes to technology. I believe that I am adopting technology now, rather than adapting it. THANK YOU for sharing all of this information. I bet I use all of it and one point or another and I know I will use my two favorite resources.

4. Edutopia
Harrison Central High School
I really hope these students know just how lucky they are. It would be amazing to have this much technology in one high school. The teachers in this school really know what they are doing. The ways they integrated all of the new technology into the curriculum is great. This video really made me think about how fast things change over short periods of time. In my high school there was not much technology integrated and by the time I become a teacher there is going to be yet so much more.
Mary Scroggs Elementary School
Before watching this video I had pictures in my mind of how my classroom might look while I am using technology while teaching, but this video made my pictures come to life. I would feel privileged to be employed at this school. They are doing great things with technology and the students will be better off in the long run. The technology is there we just have to want to learn and to want to use it.
A Product of Learning
After watching this video I was scared to think that I barely remember much from my Spanish class, so how could I ever teach in a school with 28 different languages being spoken. I thought it was neat how every student, no matter what language they spoke all played a part in the project. As teachers we have to make sure that our students have an equal opportunity and this school did that exact thing. The students will learn something as long as we present them the knowledge equally. I think students are learning even more now because of all the technology.
Assistive Technology: Lukas Bratcher
What I enjoyed most about this video is that people are not acting like we have to feel sorry for them because they are disabled. They would rather not let disabilities stop them. It is great how technology can touch each and everyone's lives, but what is even better is when it truly changes a life. This class has been based on mostly educational technology, but we all know there is even more out there. Technology is changing the world one life at a time.
Leading with Laptops
If I would have had a laptop in school I know I would have learned more, let alone wanted to learn more. Another great thing about this is that it is all paperless. I am sort of into the "going green" thing, so this is a great way to start. Students just waste paper all the time, so this way it is all on the computer and out there for the world to see.
No Gamer Left Behind
What a great title! I think if we keep coming up with ways to teach students everything we are supposed to, while teaching them in ways they like schools are going to keep getting better and better. Games seem like a great way to get a certain topic across to students. It seems like they would want to learn more and more, so they could get better at the games we use.
Learning by Design
I think internships are a great idea. Student teaching is sort of like an internship because you are using everything you have learned to start teaching students. It seems like at an internship a person might realize the reason why they had to write a certain paper or do a certain problem. To me, hands on is a great way of learning and an internship is exactly what that is.

3. ALTEC
Wow! Altec has everything! I am so glad you shared this with us. These resources will come in very handy when I become a teacher. I can see myself using a lot of the things available. I really enjoyed messing around with ThinkTank, RubiStart, and Assign-A-Day. If every teacher new about all that Altec has to offer, who knows what might be going on in their classrooms. I am so excited to use some of the resources I discovered!
2. Apple Learning Interchange
It is amazing to think that after all the money Apple has made off the iPod and now the iPhone that they would take even more time to have all of this for teachers. Apple has created a way for teachers, future teachers, and anyone else to learn about ideas from each other. This website is a great resource that I as a future teacher cannot wait to use. I enjoyed looking at a few lesson plans and I really appreciate what Apple has done. This is yet another new idea for teachers that I did not even know about. I hope that one day I may be publishing my own lesson plans for teachers around the world to see.
1. Articles to Read and Reflect
U.S. Schools Lag Behind In Use Of Technology
This article really made me think. There were many points made and I agree with them, but they are not necessarily good things. As a future teacher it is scary to think that most of my students may be technologically smarter than I am. That is what we need to change to make better use of all of the technology out there. Just like our discussion on ways to continue learning, I feel like as a teacher in the future I need to learn as much as I can, so I can be just as ready as the students. I want to help the students learn, so along the way I will have to learn more too. It is a cycle that we all have to get used to.
National Education Technology Plan
This plan is exactly what we as teachers will work towards each day in our classrooms. Technology and other advances are helpful, but we have to change the old to work with the new. The world is forever changing, so we have to change with it or we will be left behind. As a future teacher I am grateful for all of the new advances. As a student I would have loved to blog or make a podcast for the world to see. It would have made even more excited to learn. This plan is a great idea and I hope it enlightens the education world and makes even better ways for students to learn.
NETS: National Education Technology Standards: for Students, for Teachers and for Administrators
These were full of great information! They would be very helpful to me if I was a teacher right now, but they gave me wonderful ideas for the future. As a future teacher I will always be needing new ways to integrate technology into my classroom. It was helpful that there was a section for each person or persons who would be actually working at a school. It has to start with the administrators and go into the classrooms from there, so I think everyone needs to know and understand the standards. The standards also help teachers and administrators see how technology is useful and how it does NOT have to be a scary thing.
Don't Just Adapt Technology, Adopt It!
I enjoyed reading this articale as well. The title itself makes me want to read on. This class and all of the other information I have learned makes me want to adopt technology. I definitely just dab with technology, but I am trying to change. I have learned a lot of new things to do in new ways. Every school and teacher needs to read this article because they need to realize how much they just dab with technology. There are many new advances out there, so we always need to try to things!
